Mother bushes which generate materials for propagation in the tea nursery are maintained in the Research Tea Farm. Purity of clones is guaranteed since the mother bushes are
planted in pure stands. They are managed by ensuring that they are given adequate nutrition and are pest and disease free.
In the tea nursery, all clones are raised based on orders placed by stakeholders. Vegetative propagation is the method of planting which guarantees material that is true to
type, using the latest approved research techniques.
