KALRO’s mandate is to contribute to the growth of the agricultural sector, including improved livelihoods, through research coordination and regulation; technology and innovation development; and catalyze transfer and utilization of agricultural research outputs.

Commercialization of research output is part of catalyzing transfer and utilization of the technologies and innovations in order to benefit the targeted users, including agricultural producers, processors, and other value chain actors. Technologies and innovations developed in KALRO are suited to various and diverse agro-ecological zones within the country and beyond.

Institutions, both public and private, are invited to apply for permission to commercialize KALRO research outputs that are available for the same, within the framework of the guiding agreements within the Organization and the applicable laws, rules and regulations at national and international levels.
