Induction for KALRO Senior Managers

Newly deployed Institutes and Centre Directors, were last week inducted on Government and Corporate practices and procedures to enable them to perform their duties effectively.
The inductees were taken through security matters, management of crops and livestock research, finance rules and regulations, audit and risk management, procurement regulations and asset management, corporate policies including man resource management, information communication technology, intellectual property, and corporate communications and land matters.
KALRO Director-General Dr. Eliud Kireger said staff management and leadership skills are key ingredients of managing public institutions such as KALRO and it was imperative for all staff to understand public sector processes and procedures to help them to manage their workstations. Dr. Kireger urged Institutes and Centre Directors to operate within the precincts of the law, and institutional policies while at the same time upholding national values.
Dr. Kireger said KALRO has witnessed major breakthroughs in research areas such as crops, livestock, and biotechnology, as a result of dedicated staff out on a mission to make a difference in the country.
