Aflasafe Strategy Workshop

KALRO in partnership with IITA hosted a stakeholder workshop for validation of a strategy whose main objective is to provide a roadmap towards enhancing production, promotion, marketing, distribution and use of Aflasafe KE01 in the management of aflatoxins for food and feed safety in Kenya. This is to be achieved through increased creation of awareness and capacity building on the use of Aflasafe KE01 to combat the negative effects of aflatoxins.
The workshop was held on 15 December 2021 at Machakos University Conference Centre, and was attended by 35 (23 male and 12 female). It was opened the by the Director General KALRO, Dr Eliud Kireger. Among the keynote speakers was Dr. Ranajit Bandyopadhyay of IITA, Ibadan, Nigeria. The participants started by touring the Aflasafe modular plant at KALRO-Katumani.
The
