The conference presented a platform to share cutting-edge scientific research, technologies, innovations, and management practices (TIMPs) that enhance climate-smart agriculture (CSA) in Kenya. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, a “Hybrid” Conference will take place. All physical meetings will be in accordance with the Ministry of Health guidelines.
Conference Sub-Themes
The conference was organized around 3 sub-themes that are linked to the 3 triple wins (pillars) of climate-smart agriculture as follows:-
A. Improving agricultural productivity
B. Enhancing resilience/ adaptation to climate change risks
C. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions (mitigation)
The conference provided an opportunity where keynote addresses, oral and poster research findings, and CSA showcase exhibitions linked to the 3 sub-themes are presented. These were focused across 13 value chains (Dairy, Aquaculture, Indigenous Chicken, Sorghum, Millet, Cassava, Irish Potato, Tomato, Red Meat, Green Grams, Banana, Pigeon Pea, Apiculture) and 11 research areas to demonstrate the nexus between sustainable agriculture and livelihoods.
