Abstract:
Different rates of SSH 0860 (2.5 kg and 3 kg) and one rate of stomp 500E (3 l/ha) were used in a trial designed to determine the effect of the two chemicals on setaria. Since no setaria was found in the area. Only broadleaf weed control could be assessed. Broadleaf weed control using SSH 0860 was not adequate for any of the weeds present in the plot area. Stomp gave adequate control of (Amamarathus spp) but not Mexican gold or black bindweed. Yields of the treated plots were generally higher than yields of the untreated plots, reflecting some weed control and good crop tolerance.
