a) An active plant clinic every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at KALRO Njoro centre
The plant protection program routinely provides advisory services on plant pests and diseases. Farmers bring unhealthy plant samples for problem identification and further advice on management. Specifically, during the plant clinics, specialists undertake insect pest identification, diagnosis of disease, insect, weed and chemical injury (chemical injury on food crops), and help with nutrient related problems, as well as recommendations involving these diagnoses. There is no charge for the desk top diagnostic services.

c) Soil testing
The Centre has a well-equipped soil laboratory operated by skillful researchers that provide soil testing services to farmers at a nominal fee. The Centre also provides recommendations on best soil management practices including proper choice of fertilizer and use.
