Hellen is an alumni of Kenya High School (1989), Egerton University (1995), Tsukuba International Centre, Japan (1999), Inter Africa Institute, South Africa (2009), ESAMI(2011) and University of Nairobi (2014). She is food security and climate change risk management specialist with interest in project management and research. She has successfully implemented performance Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks at Nzoia sugar Company, Agricultural Development Corporation, Homegrown school feeding programme Imperial College London Project and SACDEP-Kenya. She has a working experience of 20 years in both public and private sectors. She worked as Agricultural officer at National Irrigation Board, Strategy and Planning Manager at Nzoia Sugar Company and Head of Corporate Planning and Administration at ADC in public sectors. She served as Agricultural economist researcher at Imperial College London on HGSF project funded by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and Project Coordinator of Arid and Semi Arid Lands Agricultural Productivity research Project (ASAL APRP) European Funded Project at SACDEP-Kenya which partners with KALRO to upscale and Out scale Indigenous KALRO improved indigenous chicken technologies to small holder farmers in ASAL areas. Hellen has added knowledge in climate change adaptation by developing climate change action tool kit for agricultural production.

Hellen has skills in agricultural extension, research and technical report writing, computer, performance contract management, training, audio visual training tools development, agricultural value chain analysis, climate change risk assessment and management, natural resource management, driving, international negotiations and development, fund raising and resource mobilization, Budget development and control and conducting meetings.
