National Sericulture Research Centre (NSRC)

Pre amble

The Centre is a recent establishment (March 2015) with a national mandate to establish sericultural research and catalyse growth of sericultural industry in Kenya. The Centre is one of the 51 Centres of the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation (KALRO). It one of the 4 Centres of the Industrial Crops Research Institute, which is one of the 16 Institutes of KALRO.

Physical Location: The Centre is located in Gatanga sub county, Muranga County, within the old Thika Municipality 

How to Access: The Centre is along the Kandara road, about 5km from Thika town to the north west. It is about 1.5 km from the left of Nairobi-Nyeri Highway. After Chaania bridge, take second turn left towards the KALRO Horticulture Research Institute (formerly KARI Thika). Pass the Institute and take the next turn left. The Centre sign post will be ahead.
