RICE VARIETIES GROWN IN KENYA
The current rice varieties in Kenya can be grown at altitude range of 0 to 1700 metres . They require a temperature range of 17oC to 34oC. The major ecosystems found in the country are Upland, rainfed- lowland and Irrigated. The varieties described below have been grouped according to the relevant ecosystem
